PrepPath is a free, client-side study-plan tool. This policy explains, in plain language, what data the tool touches.
The short version
- No account, no login, no password.
- The web app runs entirely in your browser. The plans, confidence ratings, and exam dates you enter are processed on your device and are not transmitted to a PrepPath server — we don't operate one for this app.
- We don't sell or share personal data.
What we store on your device
The plan you build, any downloads you generate (.ics/.md), and UI
state live in your browser/device only. Clearing your browser data removes them. The optional
local CLI stores its state in ~/.preppath/state.json on your own machine.
Analytics
If analytics are enabled on the hosted site, PrepPath uses a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics provider (e.g. Plausible) that records aggregate page views and anonymous events such as an outbound "affiliate link clicked" signal. These events do not include the contents of your study plan and are not used to identify you individually.
Affiliate links
PrepPath earns commissions through affiliate programs, including the Amazon Associates Program. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Some outbound links are affiliate links; if you buy through them, PrepPath may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. When you follow an affiliate link, the destination site (e.g. Amazon or a course vendor) and its affiliate network receive a referral identifier and apply their own privacy policies and cookies, which are outside PrepPath's control.
If you choose to submit your email address (for example, to receive your plan), it is used only for that stated purpose and handled by the email provider integrated at that time. You can request removal at any time.
Children
PrepPath is intended for exam candidates and is not directed at children under 13.
